Police recover fake Indian currency notes, one arrested

Kolkata Police has seized fake Indian currency notes (FICN) with a face value of Rs five lakh, and arrested one person in this connection from Chandi Chowk area here, a senior officer said today.

Acting on a phone call from a shopkeeper of an electronic goods store, a team of the Kolkata Police Special Task Force (STF) arrested the person last night, when he was trying to purchase items exchanging the FICN.

Two hundred FICNs of the denomination of Rs 2,000 and Rs 500 were seized from the person's possession, the officer said.
