Police recovers blank Aadhaar cards, arrests 5

The Nadia police today recovered a huge number of blank Aadhaar cards while raiding a private company's office at Shantipur in Nadia district and arrested 5 persons for cheating people.

The company used to cheat people and also issue fake Aadhaar cards to people, police said.

We have seized CPUs and printers also, a police officer said.

The Shantipur police had received a complaint that few persons were collecting money in name of a company - Tulip Health and Wellness Foundation.

They were collecting Rs 425 from individuals interested in getting loans. People were being given assurances that they would get their loans on a particular date, the officer said.
 

A complaint was lodged when people did not get their loans.

On the basis of the complaint, police raided the office today and found a huge number of blank Aadhaar cards.

The police booked the accused under sections 420/467/468/471 and 34 of IPC.
