Set up just two and a half month ago, the grievance redressal cell ofthe Jammu and Kashmir police in Udhampur district has addressed over 210 complaints in five weeks, a senior police officer said.
Over 408 complaints from individuals or groups, ranging from trivial matters to criminal activities, were registered since the setting up of the cell on 17 May this year, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Udhampur, Rayees Bhat said.
Named as 'Sahulat' (facility), it was an effort to improve the redressal of the grievances of general public, he said.

The SSP said that the initiative got a massive response and 408 complaints have been registered.
He said that that 210 complaints have already been disposed off and several others are at the last stages of disposal.
Bhat said about 496 feedback phone calls have been made and 234 SMS have been delivered to the complainants with regard to the progress or status of their grievance at police station or police post level.
