As many as 15 bovines, which were allegedly being transported illegally, were rescued after the police intercepted a truck in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district today, a police official said.
A check post was set up on a road at Nanke Chak in Samba and the truck, which was coming from Kathua side, was intercepted, the police said.
On checking the vehicle, 15 bovines, which were being transported without permission, were rescued, they said.
The truck was seized and an case in this regard was registered at Samba Police Station, the police said, adding a hunt is on to nab the truck driver.
