Police rescues a youth from kidnappers in less than 24 hours

In less than 24 hours, police rescued a 24-year-old youth who was allegedly kidnapped by a couple for a ransom of Rs 1.50 crore, police said here today.

Inspector General of Police Vipin Maheshwari told reporters that the couple has been identified as Ishant Mishra (25) and Jaycee (30), who allegedly kidnapped the youth, identified as Ashish Rajguru, after asking him to reach Mahalaxmi Nagar yesterday.

First, they allegedly demanded a ransom of Rs 1.50 crore from the victim's father Anil Rajguru and later brought down the ransom amount to Rs 10 lakh.

Police arrested Mishra after he went to the place chosen by Ashish's father to collect the ransom, after which the youth was located at an apartment.
 

An award of Rs 50,000 has been announced for the police team which rescued the youth, sources said.
