Security has been provided to Satish Wadhwani who gave statement to police against controversial godman Asaram and his son Narayan Sai.

37-year-old Wadhwani, who had earlier worked as driver and security guard of Narayan Sai from 1994-2009, has been provided a security guard armed with a pistol, police said today.

Wadhwani, who now owns a grocery shop in Syaganj area, had said that when he had given a statement against Asaram and Narayan Sai to the Surat police after he was questioned, he was allegedly warned that he would have to pay a heavy price for it.

"Since then, I have been demanding security for myself and I have got it now," he said.

Wadhwani has also demanded police security for his family members.
