A country-made gun was seized and a farmer arrested for allegedly possessing it in a village in Kadambur forest region in the district, police said today.

The seizure was made during a raid conducted by police in Ozapalayam village yesterday following information that some persons were possessing unlicensed guns for hunting, they said.

Police found the country-made gun in the house of Annamalai and arrested him.

The 47-year old farmer allegedly told the police that the gun was meant for hunting animals like deer and rabbits.
