Police seize two trucks carrying smuggled explosives

The police today seized two trucks carrying smuggled explosive materials in Birbhum district, a senior police officer said.

Superintendent of Police, Birbhum, N Sudheer Kumar said "two explosive loaded trucks have been seized from two different spots in Md Bazar police station area. We are hopeful to arrest all the persons who are involved in this illegal smuggling of explosives."

The SP said "We have found significant clues. Prima facie the material looks like ammonium nitrate but it can be confirmed only after proper tests."

One truck was seized from Md Bazar area on NH 60 and a person probably a loading labourer has been arrested but the driver and helper managed to escape.
 

Another truck loaded with explosive was seized at Panchami area. This truck too was found loaded with hundreds of bags.
