Police today claimed that they have seized the weapon and the car used allegedly by the suspended constable and his woman accomplice in the last month's Sonepat twin murders.
The team investigating the case recovered the service revolver, 17 rounds of cartridges and car used by Basant Kumar to kill his lover's husband Sandeep and his mother-in-law Roshni in Sonepat on April 18, a Haryana police spokesperson said.
Kumar, who had also allegedly murdered Chandigarh Police inspector Sucha Singh on Saturday and injured a constable, was on police remand and has confessed to his crimes, the spokesperson said.

"Basant had hidden the revolver and bullets in the car which was parked in a parking. Thereafter, he and his paramour Sarita visited Rishikesh, Mussourie, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Shimla and Chandigarh," he said.
Also, a driver Ravi Kumar, resident of Manimajra who had been with him earlier has also been arrested. The police would soon file a challan in the court in case of double murder in Deepalpur, he said.
As Basant Kumar was produced before a court in Sonepat after the duration of police remand ended, he was sent to jail in judicial custody.
The Chandigarh police had also registered a case against Basant on the charges of murdering Police Inspector Sucha Singh and fraudulently getting government weapon and misusing it, he added.
