Police today seized 250 kilograms of poppy in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.
In continuation to a drive launched by District Police Kathua against drug peddlers and smugglers indulged in illegal trade of drugs, 250 kg of poppy straw was seized, a senior police officer said.
The consignment was concealed in 16 bags laying at National Highway at Chhan Rorian road in the district, he said.
A case has been registered at Rajbagh police station and efforts are being made to trace the miscreants, they said.
