Police seizes liquor worth lakh of rupees in Nagaland

The police Friday seized around 60 cases of liquor worth lakhs of rupees and also sealed several shops selling liquor here, a senior police officer said.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Kohima, Vekhosa Chakhesang and Kohima Municipal Council officials conducted raids and sealed the shops illicit liquor in Jail colony and Old Ministers Hill area here.

There is complete ban on liquor in the state as per the Nagaland Total Liquor Prohibition Act, 1989.
