Underlining the need for better policing in the city, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today said a "positive change" can be brought if the force and the citizens join hands to improve the law and order situation.
"If police and society work together, a positive change can be brought in the society," she said while stressing on the need to improve security for women in the city.
The Chief Minister was speaking at a seminar, titled 'Women Empowerment and Social Development' at Bharati Vidyapeeth institute.

"The societies are sustained by the strength of women. I have been repeatedly stating that more than 76 per cent of entire work being done in world is being undertaken by women. Their contribution at home and at their workplace is not at all evaluated," she said.
In her address, Dikshit also listed initiatives taken by her government to ensure welfare of women.
"Our government was the first to introduce Laadli scheme which was later on replicated by Central Government and other states," she said.
