Police solve property dealer murder case

With the arrest of seven persons, Ghaziabad police today have claimed to solved the murder case of a property dealer here.

Acting on a tip-off, Vijayanagar police yesterday arrested five accused in connection with the murder case of property dealer, Prashant Malik, who was killed after he was shot at on February 22, Superintendent of Police Ajay Pal said.

Pradeep Rana of Raghunath Puri area, who is allegedly a a member of a property mafia, with his seven accomplices had fired on Prashant and Sunder Singh for taking forceful possession of a 100 square yards plot, Pal said.

Prashant and Sunder were critically injured in the firing. Prashant succumbed to his injures two days later while Sunder is still undergoing treatment, the SP said.
 

The five arrested accused have been identified as Pradeep, Gaurav, Abhishek, Saurabh and Santosh. Two other accused, Ramesh and Saurabh had been arrested on February 23.

Police said two more accused are at large and efforts are on to nab them.
