Police solves former Muzaffarpur Mayor murder case

The Police on Monday claimed that it has cracked the Muzaffarpur ex-Mayor Sameer Kumar murder case and said the murder was the fallout of land dealing business.

Senior Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar said the ex-mayor's murder was a fallout of a land dealing.

The SSP claimed that Govind Kumar had shot the ex-mayor dead as as he was not being given his share in the land dealings.

The SSP had earlier constituted a special team headed by City SP Rakesh Kumar to solve the case.

The former mayor of Muzaffarpur Sameer Kumar and his driver Rohit Kumar were shot dead on September 23, 2018 near the fire brigade office under the jurisdiction of Muzaffarpur Town police station.

 

Kumar was the mayor of Muzaffarpur Municipal Corporation between 2002 to 2007.
