Police team destroys opium crop

Police today destroyed opium crop from a village in Bihar's Kaimur district, an official said.

Acting on a tip off, a police team raided Baruna village and destroyed opium crop grown on four acres of land.

A farmer Rajan Singh was arrested for cultivating contraband substance, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Suresh Kumar said.

The destroyed opium crop was valued at over Rs 4 crore in international market, he said.
