Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Tuesday announced that the Thoubal district police team which recently seized drugs worth over Rs 100 crore in the international market would be rewarded.
A police team on August 17 busted a heroin manufacturing factory and seized 183 kg of drugs worth over Rs 100 crore in international market at Lilong Moijing in Thoubal district.
"The quantity of drugs recovered along with those of the equipments can destroy lives of generation of people," Singh said.
He announced that the Thoubal district police team would be rewarded for busting the heroin manufacturing factory and seizing the drugs.
The chief minister told the police to launch a drive against cars with tinted glass.
He also urged two-wheeler riders to wear helmets.
The chief minister also paid tributes to former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 75th birth anniversary and remembered him as someone who worked for the harmony of the people of the country.
