Press Trust of India Cuttack
Orissa High Court today issued notices to the state government seeking its response within two weeks to a writ petition filed by a woman police inspector, demanding a CBI enquiry into alleged sexual harassment and torture by a male police inspector.

A single judge bench of Justice S C Parija also asked the state crime branch police to file a status report in the court detailing the progress made so far in the investigation of the case.

The woman police inspector, now posted in Keonjhar district, alleged that she was allegedly sexually harassed and tortured by police inspector Ajay Kumar Swain.

In her petition, she stated that she had lost complete faith in the state police as senior officers were unmoved by her plight for over 12 years.
