Police to have hi-tech Dial-100 facility

The Police Control Room in Jammu Region will soon introduce new hi-tech to handle emergency situations through the use of latest advancement in information and communication technology.

With the new technology, public will get uninterrupted 24x7 access to the PCR through multi-channel Dial-100 facility, a senior police officer said.

"The PCR will soon introduce hi-tech Dial-100 system in Jammu region which will provide the public with 24X7 access to the PCR through multi-channel Dial-100 facility,", SSP PCR Jammu, Ashok Sharma said.

He said that it will also minimise the response time of police to any situation requiring immediate police intervention through quick and efficient transmission of information from the Control Room to PCR vehicles and vice-versa which bridges the gap between police and citizens to resolve the situation and also helps in prevention of crime.
 

"It will also ensure transparency and accountability of the police personnel, manning the Modern Police Control Room as well as PCR vehicles", he said.

Sharma said that women helpline is also being integrated in this system to help women's across the city against domestic violence, sexual harassment, eve teasing, chain snatching impersonation, cheaters, prevention against corruption and depression.

He said that the new measure was aimed at improving the relations between police and citizens and help the people in need.
