Police use force against agitating Youth Congress's workers

Youth Congress today alleged that police used force against its workers here as they staged "kisan satyagrah" to protest ordinance to amend the "farmers' friendly" land acquisition law.

Led by president of Youth Congress (Central Zone) Ankit Parihar, the workers who were trying to march towards Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh's residence to hand over a memorandum in this regard were stopped by the lathi wielding policemen who also took several of them into custody, media incharge of the youth wing, Avneesh Shukla claimed in a press statement.

Secretary of All India youth Congress, B V Srinivas, and others also took part in the satygrah, he said.
 

Claiming that several workers were injured in the police action, Shukla said that hundreds of workers were later taken into custody and sent to the police lines.
