Police would be divided as per Kamal Nath committee report:DGP

B Prasada Rao, the state Director General of Police, today said here that the police department of the united Andhra Pradesh would be divided as per the recommendations of the Kamal Nath Committee.

The committee was appointed by the UPA government to give recommendations as to sharing of employees between the new states after Andhra Pradesh's division.

Speaking to reporters here, he noted that police in both the new states -- Telangana as well as the residual state of Andhra Pradesh -- would face the challenge of suppressing the Naxals.

The Police Department had recommended the Centre that six police battalions should be established for each state, he said.
