Policeman caught red-handed by Vigilance sleuths

Vigilance sleuths caught a police sub-inspector red-handed inside a police station here today accepting graft from a person.

A trap was laid by the sleuths following complaints by the man, a commercial vehicle owner, and the police sub-inspector was caught accepting Rs 10000, Vigilance sources said.

The policeman had allegedly sought Rs 18000 from the man to release his vehicle, which was seized after an accident.

As per the deal the man went to the Chaibasa Muffasil police station during the day to hand over the money when the vigilance sleuths caught the policeman red handed, the sources added.
