A police constable was today killed while 12 students suffered injuries in a motorcycle-school bus collision near Dorma Bazar under Torpa Police station of Khunti district, police said.
The victim constable Pradeep Kullu, a house guard of a judge, was returning home from duty when the school bus of DAV, Khunti was collided head on in an attempt to save the constable, said Superintendent of Police, Anish Gupta.
Gupta said Kullu was killed on the spot while 12 students sustained injuries after the school bus overturned following the collision.
All the injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where they were all declared out of danger, he added.
