A policeman was killed and three others including a soldier was injured today in two different attacks when unidentified gunmen opened fire on them in Egypt's Sharqeya and Ismailia governorates.
Six gunmen riding motorcycles attacked a police vehicle in the Nile delta city of Belbeis that injured three policemen. One of them succumbed to his injuries in the hospital, security officials said.
The policemen were on duty when the militants attacked them.

The soldier was transferred to the hospital. The security force has cordoned off the area and search for the attackers is on, they added.
Militant attacks targeting police and military increased in Egypt after the ouster of Islamist ex-president Mohamed Morsi in 2013.
Over 500 security personnel have been reported killed since then.
The military has launched security campaigns, arrested suspects and demolished houses that belong to terrorists, including those facilitating tunnels in North Sinai leading to the Gaza Strip.
