Political parties and social organisations in Jammu and Kashmir today condemned the communal clashes at Kishtwar district and demanded a detailed probe into the matter.
"All political parties must come forward to foil the designs of divisive forces who are desperate to undermine the age-old traditions of communal harmony of our people," CPI(M) State Secretary, M Y Tarigami said.
He further said administration must come out from slumber and firmly deal with those elements who are to disturb the peace and harmony in the state.

Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party Chairman, Harsh Dev Singh sought a high-level judicial probe into the incident that has subsequently triggered unrest and violence in various parts of the state.
Several political parties, including BJP, have blamed Minister of State for Home Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo for the clashes between the two communities and demanded a high-level probe by independent authority.

Kitchloo was supposed to act but he remained a silent spectator, Chrungoo alleged.
Provincial President of Socialist Democratic Party, Deepu Singh Ranotra told reporters that the Jammu and Kashmir government was responsible for the clashes at Kishtwar.
Clashes between two communities left two people dead and at least 20 injured, several business establishments and vehicles gutted in arson in Kishtwar district where curfew was clamped and Army called in to assist the local administration in maintaining law and order yesterday.
