BJP national General Secretary Bhupendra Yadav Monday came down heavily on the Congress alleging that politics of lies is in its DNA.
The "lies" on Rafale deal which were spread by Congress president Rahul Gandhi were aimed at weakening national security and breaking the morale of the soldiers, Yadav claimed.
"Politics of lies is in the DNA of the Congress. The lies it spread on Rafale deal was ripped apart by the verdict of the Supreme court," Yadav told a press conference.
"Lies don't have feet and they cannot stand once the truth comes out," the Rajya Sabha MP said.
A decision was taken to purchse Rafale fighter jets after the Kargil war, "but the UPA government kept it in the cold storage for 10 years in cold storage", he said.
After the Narendra Modi government decided to purchase the aircraft, the Congress raised question, Yadav said adding that the Supreme Court looked into all the documents in this regard and said it was the right decision by the government, giving rest to all apprehensions.

"The country will become strong when the military becomes strong. The Modi government is committed to strengthen the army and adorn it with modern weapons," he said.
Stating that the Modi government is committed to national security, Yadav said the Congress has become "restless" following the arrest of Christian Michel in connection with the Augusta Westland scam.
"From the beginning itself, the Congress has been indulging in irresponsible behaviour. They stand with the anti-national forces in the JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru University). The people of the country can't imagine such irresponsible behaviour by such public representatives," Yadav said.
