Poll violence in West Bengal has so far claimed one life and has left 313 persons injured so far in 326 incidents, the Election Commission today said.
There has been one death related to polls so far (in Nadia district) and 313 persons have been injured in 326 incidents of poll violence in the state, OSD in the Chief Electoral Officer's office Amit Roy Chowdhury said here.
He said in a statewide drive against illegal arms and ammunitions ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, altogether 964 illegal arms and weapons and 2,433 cartridges have been seized so far.

Roy Chowdhury said the list of seizures also included 105.9 kg of explosive material and 4,952 bombs. Two arms manufacturing units have also been sealed.
As many as 24,762 licensed arms have so far been surrendered by the owners, while 2,771 licensed arms were impounded and 174 cancelled and 44,146 Non-Bailable Warrants executed so far with 27,045 NBW cases pending, he said.
In a special drive, the Excise department have so far seized 2.51 lakh litres of illicit liquor valued at about Rs 2 crore, Roy Chowdhury added.
