The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) will write to Maharashtra's State Election Commission (SEC), seeking appointment of an officer to oversee its polls, a senior official said Tuesday.

All state cricket associations have been asked to appoint electoral officers to conduct election of office- bearers.

Hence, the MCA has initiated the process for appointing an officer to oversee the association's polls.

"We will be writing to the State Election Commission, Maharashtra and ask them for an appropriate name. Whatever name they suggest, we will take a call on it," the official told PTI.

The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA), in a statement issued on May 21, had announced that the state associations would have to complete the election process by September 14.

Sources in the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) said they are yet to appoint an electoral officer.

Likewise, the Saurashtra Cricket Association has not appointed an electoral officer yet, but senior officials said that it will be done in the next 10 days.

Meanwhile, it was learnt that the MCA would soon finalise the coach for the Mumbai team.

When the MCA office-bearers had met last, former Mumbai wicket-keeper Sulakshan Kulkarni appeared to be the front runner for the high-profile job.
