Poly houses to come up in South 24-parganas district

They would be set up at a cost of Rs two lakh each under the guidance of the Horticulture Mission and the state government would extend 50 per cent subsidy on this to the farmers.

She said after a meeting of the task force to monitor commodity prices that 95 of the 331 blocks would get Kishan Bazar this year, while the rest blocks would get it in phases. Warehouses and cold storages would also come up in each blocks subsequently.

With the festival season knocking at the door, Mamata also announced four kg per head per week rice at Rs 2 per kg to over 3 lakh people in Aila-hit South 24-Parganas district. The quantum of rice earlier was 2 kg per head per week at Rs 2 per kg, she said.

 

Banerjee also said that a total of 59,968 people would get additional 10 kg of rice per month under Annapurna Antadaya Yojana (AAY).

The next meeting of the task-force would be held on August 1.
