Polytechnic college head clerk held for bribery

The anti-corruption vigilance sleuths today caught the head clerk of a polytechnic college here while allegedly accepting Rs 1,000 as bribe from a man.

The accused Head clerk Prasanta Kumar Mishra was allegedly harassing one guest faculty member Aditya Narayan Mohapatra to release his six month's outstanding salary.

Mishra was allegedly demanding Rs 1000 from the guest faculty to release his dues.

The aggrieved guest faculty reported the matter in the vigilance office which laid a trap to nab the head clerk, vigilance DSP Satyaban Mohanand said.

The accused Head clerk has been arrested, the DSP said.
