Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi and Chief Minister V Narayanasamy today extended greetings to the people on the eve of Christmas.
In her message, Bedi said, "Christmas is one of the biggest festivals celebrated across the globe by over a billion people.
The festival marked life, sacrifices and teachings of Jesus Christ who was the great teacher of humanity."

She wished the christian brethren and the people of Puducherry a very happy and merry Christmas.
Narayanasamy in his message stressed that the principles of Jesus such as love and sacrifice should be nurtured and promoted by all.
He wished all happiness and prosperity to the people of Puducherry, ahead of the Christmas day.
Puducherry Assembly Speaker V Vaithilingam, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) R Radhakrishnan and Ministers were also among those who extended the greetings on the occasion.

Children presented multi-cultural music and dance recitals on the lawns of Raj Nivas as a mark of Christmas eve celebrations.
Bedi inaugurated the cultural programmes in the presence of officials and senior citizens, a Raj Nivas release said.
The release said this was the first time that such an event was held on Christmas eve at Raj Nivas here.
