Pondy Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissiongets new head

The Puducherry government has appointed retired judge of the Madras High Court Justice R Mala as the new president of the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.

A notification of the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumers Affairs of the territorial governmentpublished in the State Gazette, said the Lt Governor has appointed Mala as the president of the Commission in consultation with the Chief Justice of Madras High Court.

Mala would hold the post for a period of five years from the date of assuming charge or upto the date on which she attains the age of 67 whichever is earlier, the notification said.
