The Puducherry government has initiated steps to unveil soon a policy to promote Information Technology enterprises in the Union Territory, Revenue and Industries Minister MOHF Shahjahan said here today.
He stated this while receiving feedback from industrial entrepreneurs ata meeting here.
The minister said the government wanted to obtain the views of industrialists inorder to know their requirements which would be accommodated in its proposed information technology policy.

"Land constraint also drives us to go in for IT industries and suggestions and inputs from industries are always welcome to promote IT units," he added.
A single widow system would be put in place to dispose of applications received from entrepreneurs intending to set up the IT units here.
"While a maximum of 30 days would be the time frame to clear the applications, wherever it was necessary and inevitable the disposal of the applications would be done in 45 days time," he said.
He said that the government had registered the views of industries before it finalised the new Industrial Policy some time back and the police was unveiled on the floor of the Assembly by the Chief Minister V Narayanasamy in September last year.
"Puducherry offers good scope as investor-friendly Union Territory," he said highlighting its geographical and cultural features.
