Tamil Nadu Municipal Administration Minister S P Velumani today handed over pooja articles to a few priests of small temples.
Handing over a set of five articles--brass plate, Aarati, Bell, Karthikai Lamp and a hanging lamp--all worth Rs 2,440 to the priests at a function in the famous Koniamman Temple, Velumani said that the Government has identified 10,000 such small and very small temples, where there were no no facility to carry out pooja.
Considering this, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has directed to issue such articles for the benefit of priests and also the public and the target would be met soon, he said.
Mayor P Rajkumar and Collector, Archana Patnaik were among those present during the function.
