The LoC bus service between Poonch and Rawalakot resumed today following a lull on the border after a chain of ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops last week.

A total of 49 passengers crossed over to PoK from Poonch side, a district official said.

Among them, 11 were freshers from Indian side and 38 were PoK returnees who returned after meeting their relatives here, he said

Similarly, 76 members crossed to this side from PoK and they all are freshers, the official said.

The bus service and trade between the two sides came to a halt after Pakistan resorted to heavy firing and shelling on the Indian Army posts and civilian areas.

The Chakan Da Bagh-based trade facilitation centre was also targeted by the Pakistani troops, causing damages to it.
