Ace Indian discus thrower Krishna Poonia warmed up to her defence of Commonwealth Games gold medal as she finished second in a meet in Chicago, United States today.
Poonia, who won gold in 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games, came up with a best effort of 59.17m at the 2014 Chicagoland Throws Series at Benedictine University. Poonia has a personal best and national record of 64.76 in her name.
With today's effort, Poonia crossed the CWG qualifying standard of 58.46m set by Athletics Federation of India last month.

The Glasgow Commonwealth Games begins on July 23 and track and field events begin on July 27.
