Press Trust of India New Delhi
Turmeric prices were down by Rs 88 to Rs 7,284 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators reduced positions amid low demand at the spot market against adequate stock.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in July declined by Rs 88, or 1.19 per cent to Rs 7,284 per quintal with an open interest of 24,100 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in June traded lower by Rs 60, or 0.83 per cent to Rs 7,204 per quintal in 20,525 lots.

Market analysts attributed the fall in turmeric futures to weak demand at the spot market against adequate stocks.
