Press Trust of India Chandigarh
Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said the poor had always been the backbone of the Congress and they had to "suffer" whenever the party remained out of power.

"The poor have always stood by the Congress. Whenever they did not support the Congress, it remained out of power... But it is equally true that the poor had to suffer whenever Congress remained out of power," Hooda said at a function organised to mark the 616th Parkash Utsav of Saint Kabir at Gohana in Rohtak district.

An official release quoting Hooda said the poor have strong bonding with the Congress.

Hooda also thanked the people belonging to all sections of the society for supporting his son Deepnder Singh Hooda in the Lok Sabha polls from Rohtak seat.
