Two persons posing as customers looted over Rs 9 lakh from a bank in the busy Nayasarak area of the city within the limits of Lalbag police station today, the police said.
According to an FIR lodged by the bank officials, four persons entered the bank premises at around noon posing as customers and sought the assistance of the cashier to withdraw a large amount.
"Bundles of cash brought from the strong room were kept on the table of the cashier and two of them managed to pocket a few while the cashier was busy counting the notes," the FIR said adding, the pictures of the criminals have been captured in the CCTV of the bank.
Registering a case on the basis of the FIR, the police have begun investigating the incident, though no one has been arrested yet.
