Positive global cues lift silver futures by 0.17%

Silver prices moved up by 0.17 per cent to Rs 39,236 per kg in futures market today as participants created fresh positions amid positive cues from overseas markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month July went up by Rs 65, or 0.17 per cent to Rs 39,236 per kg in business turnover of 9 lots.

Similarly, the white metal for delivery in May was trading higher by Rs 51, or 0.13 per cent to Rs 38,741 per kg in 1,286 lots.

Traders attributed the rise in silver prices at futures trade to a firm trend overseas.

Globally, silver rose 2.35 per cent to USD 16.55 an ounce in New York in yesterday trade.
