Silver prices went up by Rs 114 to Rs 41,635 per kg in futures trading today as speculators widened positions amid firm trend in precious metals overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December traded higher by Rs 114, or 0.27 per cent, at Rs 41,635 per kg in a business turnover of 405 lots.

Likewise, the white metal for delivery in far-month March was trading higher by Rs 106, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 42,538 per kg in 7 lots.

Market analysts said speculative positions built up by participants, tracking a slightly better trend in global markets for precious metals, supported the upside in silver prices at futures trade.

Meanwhile, silver was trading a shade higher at USD 17.41 an ounce in Singapore today.
