Post Office clerk gets two years' imprisonment

A special CBI court today sentenced a post office clerk to two years' imprisonment and imposed a fine a Rs 10,000 on him for swindling an agent's commission.

Judge Vashistha Narayan Singh passed the order after holding the post-office clerk, Sunil, guilty of swindling ten per cent commission of an agent, Maya Kumari.

Kumari had lodged a complaint with the agency that Sunil, posted at Ekangarsarai of Sub-Post Office in Nalanda district, had swindled 10 per cent of her commission that she was entitled to get for bringing fixed deposit from local people.

The CBI had probed the charges against the clerk arrested him on February 9, 2010.
