Deputy Chief Minister N Chinarajappa, who was the guest of honour, said many people from Razole area were going abroad, especially to the gulf for employment for the past 30 years securing passports from Chennai.

Due to the efforts made by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu through the local MP Narasimham, the facility was provided at the head post offices at two places in the district, he added.

Visakhapatnam regional passport officer NLP Chowdary said that slots were being booked daily to issue passports to 100 persons and already 80 applications had been received.

"Passport can be obtained within four days under tatkal service by submitting at least three among the 12 documents specified. The procedure has been simplified and one need not approach middlemen and can get the passport easily," he added.
