Post-retirement extension period raised for varsity teachers

The Punjabi University today raised the post-retirement extension period for teachers by two years and hiked the salary of its non-teaching staff.

The nod to raise the post-retirement extension period for teachers from 63 to 65 years was taken at a meeting, chaired by Vice Chancellor Jaspal Singh, here.

At present, a teacher after getting retired at 60 years of age can be granted an extension of three years.

The meeting also took a decision to hike the salary of varsity's contractual non-teaching staff.
