The Character Roll of Sub-Inspector Vikram Pal Sharma was mailed to Saharanpur from Aligarh but landed up in the Railway Mail Service office here in Bajaria from where it was subsequently misplaced, police said.
Learning of the fate of his parcel, the SI met RMS employee Banwari Singh Yadav who, however, was unable to locate the lost mail.
Thereafter, the SI filed a complaint against the postal employee and a departmental inquiry found the latter responsible for lapses leading to the loss of the parcel.
Banwari Singh was arrested yesterday from the postal sorting office.
