A poster supporting terror outfit ISIS was put up at a junction near a college, prompting police to remove it and launch a probe.

City police Commissioner H Venkatesh said the poster, sympathising with the activities of the outfit, was noticed by the Special Branch on a wall near the Ayurveda College junction in the heart of the city recently.

"The poster supporting the terror outfit was first noticed by our special branch. A case has been registered and the Circle Inspector of Thampanoor Police here has been entrusted with the probe," he told PTI.

As part of the probe, footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area would be examined, he said.

If necessary, the assistance of the intelligence wing would also be sought, the Commissioner added.
