West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today told the assembly that potato farmers in the state were making distress sale and not getting the right prices.
Raising the issue in the assembly, she said a crisis had emerged where the farmers were not able to purchase potato seeds owing to the demonetisation.
This was not the time for political fights, she said and urged the opposition parties to give suggestions on how to deal with the crisis.
