Power Co clerk held for taking Rs 15,000 bribe

A clerk of MP West Power Distribution Company Limited (MPWPDCL) was today caught red-handed by Lokayukta police while he was allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 15,000 in Khandwa district.

Accused Ravindranath Mahajan (40) was arrested taking bribe in a trap laid by Lokayukta Police following a complaint of retired sub-engineer of MPWPDCL Shilendra Agrawal, Indore Lokayukta Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) B S Parihar told PTI.

He said that Mahajan demanded Rs 15,000 from Agrawal, who had taken premature retirement, for settling his pension dues.

Mahajan, who was caught at treasury office of Khandwa district, has been charged under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act.
