Power Grid approves Rs 307 cr investment for transmission proj

The transmission system will commission in 28 months from the date of investment approval

State-run Power Grid Corp today said its board has approved an investment of Rs 307.18 crore for setting up transmission system for Rajasthan Atomic Power Project.

The board of directors at its meeting held on July 24, 2015, accorded approved investment approval for transmission system associated with Rajasthan Atomic Power Project (RAPP 7 &8) "at an estimated cost of Rs 307.18 crore", Power Grid Corporation of India informed BSE.

The transmission system would commission in 28 months from the date of investment approval, the company said.

Under the RAPP 7 & 8, two Pressurised Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR) will be set to generate a total of 1,400 MWe of electricity at Rawatbhata in Rajasthan.
 

Shares of the company closed at Rs 140.55 per piece down 1.02 per cent at BSE.
