Uttar Pradesh government has changed the existing schedule of power supply to rural areas of the state, in a bid to facilitate farmers.
On the directive of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, power will be supplied for five hours each during the day and night instead of the existing 10 hours at a stretch, UP Power Corporation Limited PRO, K K Singh said today.
Singh said that additional power is being arranged so that 14-hour power supply could be ensured in the rural areas.
