A powerloom owner, whose unit had no electricity supply since the last five months, allegedly committed suicide today, police said.
Atalluah Mohammad Yasim Ansari hanged himself from the celing of his house in the powerloom town of Bhiwandi near here, they said.
Police have registered a case of accidental death.
No suicide note was recovered, but according to reports the 42-year-old was upset as his unit had remained inoperative for more than five months after its power supply was cut by the electricity company. The company is said to have filed cases of power theft against him.
